Class Prophecy In the year 2049, Clem Bilger invented a submarine that takes us down to the city where Davy Iones lives. The captain of the vessel is none other than the bashful. backward, timid, curly haired Don Pranger. As we go aboard the ship, we see that dashing girl of the class, Leola Iohnson directing passengers, and making us very comfortable. ln cabin No. 1 is that very famous movie actress, Wanda Waterson, and her publicity manager, Ray Leiter, who is proposing to Wanda without success. They are sailing to Davy Iones' locker in search of a lost treasure, which was lost by the millionaire of the class, Iune Wilson. ln cabin No. 2 is Annamae Bowser who is going down to see her long, lost lover, Bob Lutter, who collects the different species of sharks. Who should come out of our cabin to meet us but the skinney farmer boy of the class. Dale Adams. He has invented a contraption, by which he can dry up the ocean bottom to grow pop-com to feed his fat wife, the former Phyllis Hurst. On arrival at Huntertown, where Davy Iones' locker is located, we find the mayor of the town, Sherry Witham and the Chief of Police, Betty Knafel. Betty and Sherry are learning a new dance routine from that famous dance instructor, Twinkle-Toes Byron McBride. They are dancing to the soothing music of Mary Freeman and Lois Longenecker, two very prominent violinists. Next we walk down the famous Allen's Alley of Huntertown and meet up with Professor Clem Wetzel. Professor Wetzel seems to be very disturbed by the fact that Dale Adams is going to pump the bottom of the ocean dry because he's afraid Dale is going to harm all the beautiful mermaids. Going on we are approached by that Iolly fish , Iunior Houser, who says as he swims toward Beulah Sloffer and Pat Kelham, Here l am you lucky girls, come and get me , and so Pat and Beulah start swimming the other way. We feel sorry for Iunior and try to cheer him up by singing Better Luck Next Time. Proceeding through Allen's Alley, we walk into the photographer's shop owned by Don Smith. Meanwhile, Don is trying to take a family pic- ture of Phil Dickes and his wife, the former Romana Howard. The only trouble is that Don can't seem to get the attention of Ramona and Phil's ten kids at the same time. Leaving the camera shop, we just walk out the door when who should we see going in to get their pictures taken in their red with purple polka-dot bathing suits, but Marilyn Gump and Martha Ann Dice. Farther on down main street, we go into Bertha Emrich's dress designing shop. She is just fitting a dress on her model, lean Shank who is substituting for a whale who she is selling the dress to. We keep walking and see the two business-like ladies of our class. Ioan Schenher and Trella Gross. running a manufacturing plant making that healthful drink, Bubble Up or Double Up . We find the main drinker of this, none other than that famous muscle-man, Iames Simon, who has just won a contest for the man having the most muscles in his feet. His wife, the former Marilyn Sue Deetz is just thrilled to pieces because Iames has won this contest and is buying him some more of that wonderful muscle building drink, Bubble Up . Walking on through Allen's Alley we stop at the movie theater managed by Merlyn Hess. The very adorable ushers Merlyn picked to seat his audience are the two tall girls of our class, Charlene Smith and Betty Fritz. They very kindly lead us to the only vacant seats in the theater in the very front row. We can't complain because the seats are comfortable and we are tired of walking. We are surprised to see that the star players are two members of our class, I. Barhydt and Paul Gause, fBy the way Imogene was voted the prettiest girl and Paul the most handsome boy by our classl, playing in a movie entitled, lust try and forget me when it's time to scratch your back . We find the show very entertaining but we begin to get sleepy so we decide to leave the theater and proceed through the town. Directly across the street from the theater, we go into the Radio Station run by Arthur Blanchard and his wife, the former Diane Amstutz. At the moment we walk in we hear that famous bass singer, George Hatch, singing the song he made famous, Bells Of The Sea . We get there just in time to see Eddie Myers. a famous radio announcer for the program How to Stay Single. pick up Ruth Opliger who swoons and faints everytime she hears George sing. By the way, Eddie is on the air fifteen minutes everyday and gives advice to all the available bachelors on. How to Stay Available . Next door we walk into the undertaker's place. The undertaker is none other than Richard Oakes and we see as his assistant, Dr. Les Thomas. They are bandaging up Iack McComb's four broken ribs. lack got the broken ribs when Betty Phillips ran into him with her automobile, While Betty said she was only learning to drive and declares lack can't sue her. but she doesn't care if he sues her driving instructor Bob Horstmeyer. This definitely put Bob on the spot as he was teaching Betty to drive with one hand and this isn't allowed. After a while, we hear that lack isn't mad at Bob anymore since Bob consented to let lack teach him the proper technique on driving with one hand. Walking on through Allen's Alley, we come to the school house. We find there. one of the best educated teachers in the world. Wanda Gordon, teaching the little fishes, Eileen May and Ioan Wappes. their A, B, C's on how to catch a man. Next, we knock at the door of a cute little brick house owned and cared for by Don Bauer. who baby sits with the children of his and his wife the former Barbara Mackey, while his ambitious wife works at the Glue Factory owned by Lowell Brown. Next we run across Sally Whan and Ruth Greuter, a couple of cute merrnaids admiring the swimming ability of Phill Riecke. who has just swum across the Atlantic Ocean without tearing off a fin. Next, we see Professor lack Walters passing out pills lack has just mixed together, which lack says will make us live forever. We swallow one of Iack's pills and fContinued on page 543 21
