These funny little characters are ma- rionettes made by the first year art class, under the direction of Miss Dill. During the year the class presented a marionette show, the play being written by he sopho- ome English class. The following students made rnarionettes: Bob Hadley, a sailor, Phil Hyndman, lack Bleekman, a thugg Frances Dunten, Albert Meyers, another thug, Wilma Taner, Norma Branning, a maid: Yvonne Kell, Sue McLane, the mother, Keith Dice, Doris Aikens, the boarderg Rosemary Minton, Suzanne Bo- bay, one twin, Deloris Weaver, Ruth Wid- ner, another twin, Dallas Lindemuth, Ioe Huber, a soldier.

BLACK AND GOLD FLASH The Black and Gold Flash with its twenty- three staff members keeps the school buzzing with the latest news and events of the year. The paper is published monthly by the journalism class. This is the second consecutive year of the year of the Black and Gold Flash, and the staff with the sincere teaching of Miss Greenawalt has added many new improvements to the paper. Digging up news stories and assigning them to the staff members is the job of the assignment editor, Ioyce Branning. Make-up editors are Darlene Butt, lean Davis and Richard Moore. Writing the interesting features of the paper are editors Lloyd Gump and Bruce McComb. Art edi- tor, Phyllis Smith, takes care of all art work. Copy editors are Betty Easterday and Lorraine Opliger. Keeping the students posted in all sports are editors Richard Horstmeyer and Robert Gordon. lean Ann Campbell has the job of exchanging the Flash with other schools of the county and sending the Flash to out-of-school subscribers, Richard Yearling and Norman Plummer han- dle the business of the paper, and Robert Richey and Pauline Pulver are the office managers, lack Grim takes care of the many newsletters sent out to service men who have attended I-luntertown School. Circulation managers are Don Genth and Lee Freeman, The typisis for the Flash are Norma Fox, Maryann Keener, Barbara Van Anda and Alvera Aikens. BAND From stirring military marches to solid boogie-Woogie members of the band find Mr, Sloffer an inspiring director. The band's first public appearance occurred at the initial home basketball meet adding color and rhythm to sporting events. The performances of the band were looked forward to by all spectators. lntricate marching patterns and maneuvering caused many enthusiastic ohs and ahs from the fans, ln order that the school might have a more singable loyalty song, the band members chose the tune of Wave the Flag of Old Chicago as another school song in the Huntertown students' repertoire. At the Allen County Band Festival held March 23 the Huntertown group was chosen as the clinic band which played several numbers that were pub- licly criticized by Hans Schweiger, Director of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra. 5 Three students, Richard Pepe, Bryce Fitch and Howard Hess, are complet- ing their senior year in the band. Several band members entered solo and group contests held by the Northeastern Indiana Band Association at Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne.
