ACT coast fierce young lad mistakenly apprenticed to Pirates is told by Ruth, his former nurserymaid. But, behold! young ladies appear - they are the daughters of Major General Stanley. Frederic's eyes have been opened! He then meets Mabel, Maidens meet Pirates, the Major General appears and tells a little storyl' to prevent his daughters being instantly married. story ACT TWO - A ruined Chapel by - moonlight Frederic is asked to sweep the Pirates from the face of the earth with the help of the Police who make their triumphant entrance behind the leadership of their Sergeant. Frederic is reminded, however, that his contract as an apprentice has not yet expired due to a slight problem with wording regarding his 2lst birthday, as he was born on February 29th. Mabel assures him she will wait for him, even if it is for 60 years. The Police re-enter and are very brave until they hear the Pirates and hide! The Pirates sneak in and prepare for battle. The Major General is awakened by this clatter, and is eventually convinced it breeze that woke him. His daughters appear. The Pirates attack. . Band lt was only last year that we saw Central's Red Devil Marching Band change its style and go into competition for the first time since the mid-7O's. Both undertakings were very successful, and this year the band made another leap forward, highlighted by a Presidential performance, a competition win, and a trip to Europe. Complete with their own Secret Service agent, but unfortunately off to the side of the TV cameras, the band played before, during and after President Reagan's visit to the San Genero Festival at the Flemington Fairgrounds on September l7th. 204fBand
