Principal Mr. Russel Clark, a graduate of Catawba College, is now in his third year as principal of Hunter Huss High School. Having been associated with the school system for twenty-two years, he is primarily involved in student affairs at Huss. The Astron staff, along with all the students, finds him a pleasant and concerned man who is sure to contribute to our school life.

Dedication The Hunter Muss Astron staff proudly dedicates the 1977-78 edition of the Astron to Mrs. JoAnne Potts. A graduate of Appalachian Stale University, she received a B.S. degree in business education. Having been a teacher at Hunter Huss for twelve years, she has contributed her time and efforts, not only in the classroom but also in extra-curricular activities. For several years, she was coordinator of all student affairs, a position through which she greatly improved Huss students’ involvement. She is friendly, vivacious, and truly interested in young people. Because of her outstanding service to the school, she is indeed worthy of being the dedicatee of the 1978 Astron. 19

Assistant Principals Mr. Hiram Baucom, who came to Muss in 1965 as a teacher and coach, has served as one of our assistant principals for four years. He is in charge of discipline, school maintenance, and buses. The Astron staff, students, and faculty find him a pleasant and concerned man who has contributed greatly to the improvement of the school. In this third year as assistant principal. Mr. George Jaggcrs is certainly an asset to the administration. Ilis duties arc varied, ranging from book reports and student absences to discipline and early dismissals. His concern for all students has made him a popular part of Hunter Huss. 21
