The squad, under rookie coach NICK KYRIAZOPOULOS, won its 1st ever CUNY Championship, posting a 5-0-1 conference record. In addition, the Hawks received a bid to the ECAC Championship Tourna- ment, a feat last accomplished in 1973. It was a record-breaking season for senior striker SAVVAS KYRIAKIDIS, who ac- cumulated in one season, Hunter record totals of 27 goals and 12 assists. In his 4 years, KYRIAKIDIS has set the all-time record for both C59 goals, 19 assistsj. Junior goalkeeper ZARKO IVKOVIC, totaled a rec- ord 9 shutouts while posting an almost in- visible 0.83 goals against average. Senior forward MATTHEW OPUORU added 12 goals and 6 assists, junior midfielder ABDEL-KARIM MOUMEN had 10 assists along with his 3 goals, while freshman mid- fielder EVRARD DUPLAN chipped in 8 goals and 3 assists.

Under the direction of first year coach Stephen Hanks the Women got off to a quick start winning their first three and nine of their first ten games. Four seniors catcher Liz Bevaqua, pitcher Gillian Shadood and outfielders Jenny Velez and Charlas Dehl- ing all had outstanding final seasons. The mixture of these perennial CUNY all-stars along with some talented underclassmen were the right ingredients for the Hawks to contend for another CUNY championship. ,Maas wx' gt, ..--n 5- ,, i, ,..,i . it '
