The unit mans tvvo nuclear security areas whenever nuclear weapons are transported and handled outside ot the permanent secur- ity areas. Theodetachment has thirty men and one officer to carry out their assigned mis- sion and operate on a port and starboard ltyvo sectionl duty basis vyith the oft-duty section manning the temporarynsecurity areas as required.
