HSENICR CLASS PROPHECY!N In the year, 1970, after Larry Gwinn had made his first million by farming here in Iowa, he decided to take a trio around the world in a new supersonic jet. He was very surprised to find Louis Wagner piloting the plane. He had made the Air Force his career. Assisting Louis on his flight as a hostess was Jane Ellen Sponsler, who was about to settle down and start her married life with a Leon boy. Larry's first stop was in California where he attended the l97O Rose Bowl game. Here he found Charles Storm playing left tackle for one of the Big lO teams. While eating in a small resturant, Larry found tis waitress to be Janice Rickert. As the conversation proceeded, he found that Larry Rickert was playing pro-baseball for the San Francisco Dodgers. He had led the Dodgers to great fame ln the World Serles Starting on their homeward fllght Larry was glad to hear from Lou1s that Larry Hook had settled down in South Dakota and was raising buffalo on his lO0,000 acre ranch He was maklng a large profit by selling than to horney people One of Larr5's closest neighbors was Raymond Storm who was settled down on a farm raising quarter ro ses and farming on the s1de Mary Trisler had made a great change in Cnuc' LeNis's life and they were helping Raymond and Larry lncrease their proflt by buying the1r horse and buffalo in order to keep their growing family hapoy Larly, be1ng very nervous and tired from the long get ride, decided to stop at the St Louls Clinic to see if he could be relieved He was very surorlsed to finc his former classmate, arol Gardner, who was working as a doctor's technician ln the clinlc As we got to talking she told me her Air Force frlend was coming home for good next week and this would be her last week of work She also told us that she had run into Bob Crawford and he told her that he was go1ng to a trade school here in St Louis Boarding the jet again, Larry headed to our capital, Des Moines Here he found Judy Surfus, and Barb Dachenbach still working and staying in Des Moines Marcia, after working her way through A I B School, had settled down to rais1ng a family with a certain boy from the army On the way home, Larry stopped at Marysville College and found thre familiar old faces Dennis McGuire, Mike Mitchell and charles axle Mike and Charles have an addition to their salary Tinda R and Dottxe S Dennls was still roaming the campus trying to find the right girl Returning to Humeston, we found that Linda Richard married Don Wiseman and is now living on a farm near LeRoy Anita Greer also married a certain Derby Boy and settled down to feeding chickens and milking cows Marvin Massey and Donald Street d1dn't leave Humeston for they found work here to occupy their spare time HISTORY OF SENIORS OF nS9n In l9U7, fifteen pupils entered first grade of Humeston Public School Our teacher, Miss Virginia Crawford, taught the following students Barbara Dunn, Charles Exley, Anita Greer, Larry Hook, Donald Street, El1zabeth Lyon, Dennis McGuire, Richard Newell, Van Ivan Renor, Linda Richard, Jan1ce Rickert, Larry Rickert, Junior Roe, Fern Smith, Jane hllen Sponsler, and llen williams Du ing the third six weeks of school Mike Mitchell joined us, boosting our total to sixteen we were sad to see Fern Smith leave us the second semester Also, Barbara Dunn was removed from our class as the result of a fatal car accident Donald Street left us and transferred to Ga.den Grove Ou. class membership was brought back up when we gained four new boys at the bevinnlna of the second semester They were Jerry Mericle, Jimmy Boyce, Kenneth Landers, and Ga y Dale After the long summer 1 were all very year of school, taught by Miss Greenlee Hook, Dennis McGuire, Richard Newell, Van Rickert, Larry Rickert, Junior Roe, Fern Vitchell, and Kenneth Landers This year eager to return to start our second Charles exley, Anlta Greer, Larry Ivan Renoe, Linda Richard, Janice Smith, Jane Ellen Sponsler, hike we lost Fern Smith tow that we have finished our second year of school, the summer months passed much too qulckly It was time or us to return to school, third grade, and Ifss Gorden They were Charles xley, Anita G eer, Larrv Hook, Dennls IcJuire, R1chard Leaell, Van Ivan Renoe, Linda Richard, Janlce Rickert, Junior Roe, Jane rllen Sponsler, Mike Iltcdell, and Kenneth Landers At the beginn1ng of the year we gained Pat Dent, Richard Swartz, and Roger Lawrence Then at the begirning of the second semester, we gained Larry Rickert and Roger Lane . 1 I 1 . . 1 L 1 r -va ' , , .. .
