Band There were S7 students enrolled in band this year under a new dlrector, Mr C C Jensen Among the highlights of the marchlng season was a trip to nterville where they partlcipated in the nPancake Day Paraden, at each of the home football Games the band saluted the flaw by playlng the Nat1ODal Anthem before Fame time and preformed during half time 41th preclslon drilling and playlnv, also, they led the Homecoming Parade on God's Portlon Da and at h lf t y a 116 durinL the game Majorettes for the TSPCUIHQ season were Jane E Sponsler, T lary Trisler, and Layola 11111313 n Nancy Hart Jas Drum Major The concert band ave a concert to the public 1D the Hlgh ochool Cymnasium 1n Ncvember to open 1ts season Next they played at the Actlvlties Banquet lventy nlne members Jere chosen to go to the C ounty MUSIC Festlval at oeymolr 1D April oev ral students represented the school Jn the MUSIC contests fa' small groups held in Afton Charles nxley and Carlene Jensen each received a II rating on their clarinet solos lhe tlarlnet Quartet made up of Charles mxley, Jane B Sponsler, Rheta Garton, and arlene Jensen, received a II, also Don MalAer's tuba solo rated a I and h1s coronet solo a II On Hay hth at the state music contest ln Lamoni, the band recelved a II ratir Band members lost by graduation wlll be Judy Poole, Trombone, Don valker, Cornet, Karen burbaunh, sax ophone, and Nancy Hart, Drum dagor MAJGRETTES Drum Major Nancy Hart Majorettes, Mary Lou Trisler, Jane Ellen Sponsler, Layola Williamson . . . . - v . o e 0 o . . 3 .
