ii? -4 SENIOR CLAS3 HISTGRY Our class first originated in 1935 with forty-three members. The upper classmen welcomed us by an initiation party. Shortly afterwards,we gave them a party in return. The members gradually became accustomed to high School life. They took active parts in all school activi- ties. Our first attempt in dramaticg was the Freshmen class play, a comedy, HDeacon-Dubbsn, which was directed by Miss Hertha Bach. We'll never for et when Deacon Dubbs fMelvin Putzkej and Rawdon Crawley ilillwood Idekerl fell into the well. WThe Old Fashioned Motheru a more serious play was presented during our Sophomore year. Our third attempt was WO KayW,which was directed by Miss Lois Rose. Not until after this play Elda Buchheim the detective, learned how to handle a gun. The last play was the mys tery-comedy, UThe Night Owln, directed by iMiss 'Nellie Storsve. Sports was well represented by our class. Bob Good- barn and Connie Merrigan, became outstanding players in Basketball. Not only in dramatics and sports were the members active, but also, in musiq journalism, and minor activi- ties. During our Junior year we put on tne Junior-Senior Banquet in a circus fashion. In the senior year,we edited the WHi Criern, the school paper for which Bob Goodbarn was the editor. Many Seniors were also members of the 1937 annual staff. When our class first started High School, we were very timid and insignificant in the sight of the upper classmeng but we sought companionship 'and consolation among ourselves. Ever since, we have planned together, worked together, and played together in almost perfect harmony. We give credit to this fact for our being successful in whatever we tried to accomplish. We want to remember our social affairs as well as our school work. We have had house parties, theatre part- ies and sleigh riding parties and picnics. Once we all dressed as hoboes and had our party in a barn. Then came our last days of school, which were filled with such events as skip day, Bacclaurette, Class night and graduation. We were thrilled for these few moments, yet all the while we knew these days meant Ngoodbyen to dear old WHumboldt Hin. -25-
