ENID MILLER lowa State College B.A. Miss Miller was kept busy this year teaching girls' junior high, high school, and elementary physical education classes. She also sponsored G.A.A., Pep Club, and the cheerleaders. Miss Miller plans to take a trip to Europe next summer. GLENN PETERSON Drake University M M E Excuse is no reason says Mr Peterson to the unfortunate pupils who neglected their preparation for a lesson. Mr Peterson who is a piano major entertained us in assemblies during the year with many of his renditions at the piano He also is the Junior and senior band director sponsors the pep band dance band and has individual lessons all the year around MILAN PETRAS University of Illinois Mr Petras is the instructor of vocational agriculture which consists of farm management animal husbandry and farm crops He also instructs an evening class The sophomore class and the F F A have Mr Petras as their sponsor The past year ten of the boys went with their projects to the State Fair THOMAS PLACE Iowa State Teachers College After a summer spent working on his master s degree Mr Place re turned to Humboldt H igh to teach classes in biology and drivers training He was very satisfied at the overwhelming number of stu dents enrolled in drivers training during tts second year Sponsoring the Drivers Club was another one of his projects eslssf:-r.-. RODNEY HAKEMAN VLRGINIA HUNDERTMARK RODNEY HAKEMAN Iowa State College With rare good humor and patience Mr Hakeman taught the algebra geometry trrgonometry and business artthmettc classes He helped coach the Junior high football squad and was a sponsor of the Junior class He enjoys outdoor sports as a hobby and spent the last summer working for his master s degree VIRGINIA HUNDERT MARK Luther College asdfjkl Typing students under the watchful eye of Mrs Hundertmark knew these letters quite well Mrs Hundertmark a business admrms tration maJor taught typing shorthand bookkeeping and secretarial practice She was a junior class sponsor durtng the school year ALMA JOHNSON St Olaf College After a summer spent in peace and quiet Miss Johnson returned to teach the complexities of math to not so eager students Two classes of general math three classes of algebra and one of business arrth metrc listened to and learned from her Miss Johnson also sponsored the sophomore class and helped organize a lively picnic and a vigorous magazine sales campaign LEONE LOVERING Iowa Methodist Hospital Two offices one tn the grade school and one in the high school kept Mrs Lovertng busy this year Besides always being on the lookout for any new diseases and bandagtng the inevitable bruises and cuts she checked the height weight and eyes of the students Mrs Loverrng somehow found time to sponsor the Junior Red Cross and the milk pro gram ALMA JOHNSON Mike Baker Geraldine Beeson and Dean Nervig LEONE LOVERING perfect their chemistry experiment 22
