As You Like It 3 William Shakespeare V 1 , Auditions began two weeks before the opening of this year's run. The cast and directors had been chosen last spring: but there were calls out for feature players, and many came to try their luck. The opening was a record breaker with three hundred twenty-three reporting for the cast, and twenty directors on hand to cue -4- V- I .-,, W 1 ,Q ,, K In Y ..., X4 ,H .,, ..,. ,571 ,X rx , ,. 1, any . , my . a. -1-'...:. -- X- them in their parts. Advanced Spanish students found a teach- er to show them on their way, and a Spanish teacher with a French accent was cr novelty. Speech class enlarged to include underclass- men. The ag boys comrnuted between the shack and the main building, while artists headed south every day for the stone building. With three or four different classes being held in the same room, teachers and students alike often became confused: and the ensu- ing melee seemed like something out of Shakespeare's farces. Down into the Hole went the yearbook staff, thanking their lucky stars that they could get even that. ge To the students and the faculty came mutual understanding, and as the end of the year rolled around the hard-hearted seniors wondered if they really were happy that this stage of life was ending, for in playing their parts they have learned that life and learn- ing are integrated scenes in the play of human history. -5- C L A S S E S faculty, and students combine iheir efforts to give the production at Hum- boldt High Q successful run. , iff S 33 -7... -al Administration Producers an Directors Supl Clyde D Mecrse M A S The youngsters w1ll surely lute tins new s h cl a out surns up the thought be md Mr Meases work lll1S year Wltll the plans and spemft atrons for the new butldmnq to be ar rar ea llr Vlease tot. d his days tull of both the old and the new Arranqrnq all the varlous Ph o a 1Vlll9S so that there were no conth ts and SUDQTVISIHQ the school program were Just a few of he manj dunes that he had Prm Delmarl Cram M A S Well now I remember thrs fellow and Mr Cram would renumsce to the dehqht of hrs students 1n hrs psychology and broloqy lasses Se ond semester reheved Mr Cram of nts psychology class but wxth h1s dunes as prmc pdl h strll found h1rnse1t fully oc cum d ln h1s Ilrsr year as l'l1ql'1 school prm oal Mr ra'n lnaugura d many new laeas and Ways of dolnq thlnqs most of wh1cl pleased the students He also advxsed the busrness end of the Nolfomxs and sponsored the senrors School Board First Row Phyllrs ebel s fl Melnn Baker presrdent Clyde D Mease supermtendent Second Row Vlrlllam P Housel Fred rlall Dr W W Warren Vern Mrller WGlennBe1l BM MA SUI re are fl nls cr r 1 1113 1' s Sl .v re dIIl1l1'IY wort s IC 1 members f Il 1 , lani mdev tl hm on of Mr et A te t1e foottall s a on a lJ 'J t Lan 'x LIIWVY band and var1ous small qroups took tare of ms ure Bels summ r va anan mcluded a Ween 1t la e Ok lo1 rs 1 1a1 nouns 1 Ioan Blaul B A S U I 'Well use vo II 1maq1na1 n Came the oft rep ated phrase from MISS Braul to her h1qn srhool Classes Hugh hool tudents howev r Con st1tuted onry '1 small p rtton of me 500 students who Cam to her every Week for 1nstruC1on The soutl 'null tm ooard was de orated wtth the Blaul Cla1m d rors bacn r1d1n as rer hobl y Guy Carter B S Upper Iowa Umversxty Thats a qood quest1on Ca11 anyone answer 1t'9 was Vlr Carters m thod of helprn, students thmlc tor themselves H13 Classes mbluded a Chemrstry physus and tw1 qeneral SCIQULG lass s Mr Carter sp la t sumn1 r worlunq on h1s mas r s degree at Drake UH1VPfS1lY Marlone Iuel B A I S T C Lets have ll qu1 t Ready?
