They also knew their ll big social obligation lay before them, and that money, work, and skill would be necessary to make the event Ll success. To help swell the class funds the juniors worked as candy, fruit, and coke salesmen at the basketball games. Then, too, they sponsored an lrish sock hop. Miss Held and Nlr. Ritland, co-sponsors of the class, found some of their school family a trifle forgetful in matters of work responsibility. They could, however, point to a fine list of names on the honor roll and on the extras teams. On September 28, the Schulve truck landed the merry- makers safely in the Friesth woods. Here they played such games as Squirrel in the Tree and Run for your Supper. A gossip sheet proved a revealing after-supper sport. ln the magazine sales drive, the sopl1ies pitted themselves against the seniors, won the treats and individual prizes, and earned money for their treas- urv. The schedule for these people included sueli sub- jects as geometry, world history. lfnglisli, and homemalting.
