She worked with juniors and seniors by way of classes in psychology, geography and grammar. XV. GLENN Blil.l,-B.Nl.-S.U.l. like all good musicians Mr. Bell, who taught instrumental music in the grades and high school, likes to hear and play good music. And like all good music teachers, he dislikes persons who sign up to take lessons. but who do not want to practice. Last summer Mr. Bell taught brass instruments at the University of Iowa, and worked on his Masterls degree. DORIS M. ISIQNTLFY-B.A.-l.S.T.C. At the end of a summer of work and fun at lfstes Park, Colorado, Miss Bentley came to Humboldt to take charge of the school's vocal music department. She worked with the young- sters in the grades and with special music groups in high school and junior high. Miss Bentley likes to sing and play, and to hike and cycle-but oh, she despises wide tremolos. GUY LAR'l'lfR-ISS.-Upper Iowa Nlr. Carter attended Drake University during the summer of 1948. doing work that would apply on his Nlaster's degree. When school opened he was back in the science room ready to meet his classes in chemistry. physics. and general science. Nlr. ii., Mr. Cram: lt's just a little wnrm's insides. 'llrs-1. Cram: lt takes towels to keep 'em clean. Mr Dilly: Manager Carlson launders the easy way. Mr Flanders: Terry, smiley it's dress rehearsal. DELMAR xl. CRAM-15.5.-M.A.-S.U.I. Mr. Cram served junior high as its principal. l-lc sponsored its student council, coached sev- enth grade basketball, and taught classes in sev- enth grade English and eighth grade science. Once a day Mr. Cram left his domain and came across the hall to teach a class of sophomore biologists. He plays golf and baseball. But please, don't ask him to eat spinach. RUTH CRAM-l5.A.--l.S.T.C. Mrs. Cram was kept very busy in the physi- cal education department working with all the girls in the entire school and some of the young- er boys. She taught a class in eighth grade Eng- lish, sponsored the Pep Club and G.A.A. and helped supervise the noon play period. As a pastime Mrs. Cram clicks the knitting needles and listens to radio music programs. KENNETH DILLY-B.A.-l.S.T.C. XVestward ho! That was Mr. l7illy's watch- word last summer as he sped toward Vfyoming to attend summer school. During the school year he taught classes in business training and physical education. He coached the second squad of pigskin tossers, the first string of cagers, and the baseball team. Mr. Dilly dislikes cold weather. Winter of '48-'49-Brrl MARK W. FLANDERS-B.A.-I.S.T.C. After working for a term in a speech clinic .it Grinnell last summer, Mr. Flanders came to Humboldt to join the high school faculty. Here he taught classes in English and speech, and worked with students who scheduled for de- clamatory and play work. Mr. Flanders enjoys reading, but breaks away now and then to flash .1 snapshot of his young son, Terry. E161
