Buckarettes Attend Workshop School in August? Ugh! cried the Buckarettes, until they learned that the school would be a dance workshop meeting in Santa Barbara, CA. After a week of hard work, the Buckarettes made a side trip to Disneyland and then returned home ready for a year of dancing up school spirit. The Buckarettcs danced at halftime during home games and travelled to Manogue and Reno for basket- ball tournaments. Money raising projects included a Sadie Hawkins Dance and the raffling of a furry purple and pink stuffed elephant and a handmade afghan. Buckarettes from top of L down include: Kathy Evans, Debbie Mentabcrry, Kendall Kniep, Shirley Mason, Alicia Davis, Claire Moncivais, Lolene Schwarts, Debbie Hatch, Donae Hearth, Mimi Richards, and Kimmy Hart. 28 Songleaders Dance Up LHS Spirit Lowry Songleaders standing from left to right: Laurel Haley, Paula Mentaberry, Beth Crosby, Jana Legarza, and Janell Souza. The dedicated Lowry High Songlea- ders started getting in tune early this year be attending the Squaw Valley Songleader Summer Camp, where they placed fourth in camp competition. After school began they worked on novelty and pre- cision dance routines to be presen- ted during halftimes at games both home and away. The money for transportation to the away games was taken from their various fund raising projects.
