The people in our modern society are placing more and greater demands of education on our public high schools due to the present world conditions and the questionable activities behind the Iron Curtain. Some of these demands are --increased units for graduation, with special emphasis in the area of Math- ematics and Science--instructi0n in the new concepts of Modern Math- ematics, more emphasis on the usage of the English Language--and instal- lation of Foreign Language Laboratories. We, at Humboldt County High School, are studying these new concepts particulary in re- lation to our present program. If we deem them practical, we will adopt them when facili- ties and budget arrangements are secured. We have made numerous changes during the past year and indications are that additional changes are in view. Our objective is to graduate the highest calibre of student. T0 the members of the Senior Class of 1963, I offer my sincere congratulations on this accomplishment. The year to follow will be one of the most important years of your life, for during this period you will determine your future. lf I can assist you in any way, do not hesitate to contact me. M r. IW'tiwi't 1' , V ' Amirfant Superintendent's Menage it is apparent that Humboldt County is growing and it is also equally apparent that the school population is growing. While this pupil growth is not explosive it is persistent and has forced :1 need for additional classrooms. Fortunately, the people of Humboldt County have recognized this need and h:ch authorized the Humboldt County Board of Education to sell bonds to raise $650,000.00 with which to buy sites, build new schools and school additions. It will indeed be a pleasure to participate once again, in the pluxming and erection of school buildings for the children of this county. I thunk the Winnadu stuff for the opportunity to make LL brief statement and I congratulate each member of the stuff for a job well done in the publication of this yearbook.
