Out of fourteen husky Buckaroos rcporting for practice at the beginning of the 1944 football season, twelve men lettered to make Coach McCracketYs first season, as Buckaroo coach, successful. Five lettermen returned this year more determined than ever to play a rough game of football. The season ended with the Buckaroos dead-locked with the Lander Longhorns for northern football honors.
