M Purple-painted paper shows Class of '849s unusualness The class of '84 was known for their unusualness. Freshmen painted rolls of white paper purple for their spirit chain during Homecoming week. Sponsor Doyle Warren sug- gested the idea because the underclassmen had difficulties ob- taining the regular purple paper. Karen Bland paints the paper in the Career Center walkway. Freshmen then out the paper into strips. Mr. Warren had the Freshmen working on the chains dur- ing homeroom and after school. The sponsor also had in- dividuals working at home, plus groups had chain parties. The final outcome was one of which the Freshmen could be proud.
