As soon as a story is turned in it is sent to the typing room. If the typists are lucky there might not be the usual flood of stories turned in one or two days before the deadline. Once all (or most) of the articles are typed, they are glued onto layout sheets. Photo-copies are then made of the layout sheets and are sent with stencils through the Thermofax machine. The stencils are then put carefully onto our copy machine and the pages are printed. Despite this simple process, the main force behind the production of the Tiger Talk is the faithfulness and long suffering of our sponsor and advisor, Velma Reiman, Mrs. Reiman spends long hours before and after school working so that a quality paper will be produced. Most of the credit goes to this enduring woman. Kevin Wagner- If you were to walk a mile in the moccasins of a Tiger Talk reporter, you would experience the variety of work involved in publishing an issue of the school paper. The reporters are all volunteers who give their time to choosing, writing, and typing the stories. Their stories are cut apart, glued onto layout sheets, and sent with stencils through the thermofax machine. The stencils are placed on the duplicating machine and the pages are printed. Though these steps seem simple, they are often complicated by unforeseen circumstances — a messy duplicating machine, the failure of articles to be written, and machine breakdowns. Throughout the year, the aid of the typing classes has proved invaluable in getting the newspaper out on time. If the reporter devotes a large portion of his time to meeting his deadlines, then the sponsor does little short of eating, sleeping, and living with the newspaper. Mrs. Reiman's duties range from reminding delinquent reporters of stories to doing battle with uncooperative machines. Our Tiger Talk is more than the printed page . It is a joint effort of the newspaper staff, the typing classes and the student body, who all put a tremendous amount of work into the paper. Tiger Talk nr i L 1985-86 Tiger Talk Staff are: Advisor, Mrs. Velma Reiman. Bobbi Worthan, David Murray, Ron Leonard, Carol ICurpjuweit, Melissa Nelson. ' Getting ready the riot act' Mrs. Reiman does not look too happy as she begins this meeting of the Tiger Talk. It has always been said that good reporters always look over their work one last time. So, are they really looking it over or just making it look that way. 51 «1 • Evei 76 y ars, after a many bWlion mile trip, Halley's comet visits out solar s lem On itlkptdrip ii 1910,. it pre- nted a spocta na iew. A., one in which I was a cadet teacher, I see this chapter as holding very valuable experiences. When I joined F. T. A., I was not sure 1 really wanted to be a teacher and now, I am even less sure. But I have developed a strong admiration for teachers and the vital roles they have in the lives of children. The cadet teaching days and the year I spent with a class have helped me in my realization of what the teaching profession consists of. On these days, we not only get to sit in on normal classroom situations, but also have the opportunity to deal with the children ourselves. Whether I go into the teaching field or not, I have gained by the years I have had in F. T. A. They have not only given me a broader outlook, but I feel they have also made a better, more responsible person out of me. Amy Steward First Row Christa Stacy, Pam Allison, Stephanie Neighbors.
