Known to some as i snipes , to others as those guys down in the hole . They were responsible for seeing to it that the ship always had the ability to move onto station and carry out the mission as well as the ability to maneuver quickly when enemy shells began l crashing into the water nearby. Their 5 hours were long, the conditions they worked under were nearly intolerable 5 at times, but they did their job, and they did it well.
