CONCERT BAND The Hugoton concert band, under the direction of Torn Ward, Gave many excellent performances at basketball games during the year. Our band, playing marches as well as concert pieces, toured other towns giving concerts for the schools there. The band attended a musical contest at Dodge City, and also The band clinic at Syracuse. 'ln Q I A Ll. t il I' MARC HING BAND The Marching Band consists of 46 Members, they marched at the following: I-Iugoton--Gascapades Hutchinson--State Fair Wichita--Band Day and Home Coming Gymon--Pioneer Day Liberal--Christmas Parade Hugoton--Christmas Parade Elhart--County Fair The band has been complemented on e1r ex football ames and parades. Some of their stunts have been: Home- 8 coming they formed a heart and played Let Me Call you Sweetheart durin the crowning of the queen. At the Liberal football game Liberal S and I-Iugoton bands performed together. At Liberal the Band represented Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer ' and pulled Santa Clause and His th ' cellent marching at sleigh down the street. The twirlers are Kay Morgan, Jeanne Purcell, Glenda Evans, and Delberta Johnson. The Drum Majorette is Rita Parker. Mr. Jom Ward is the director. CLASSIC BARBER SHOP 40 1 fi gt. 1 R 4 mi'
