BUFFALO TRAILS 1973 Hugo High School Presented by the 1973 Annual Staff Hugo High School Volume XX Contents Alma Mater Administration Faculty Classes Organizations Favorites Athletics Activities Alma Mater We leave these halls far behind us And though we go far away We H always be true To the spirit we knew In our Hugo High School days. Loyalty, Courage, and Wisdom We've gained through all the years. And by God's good grace We will soon take our place Treasuring memories through smiles and tears, 2 Hugo High School is more than a place where young people come to study. It is a place where the young learn to live with others and to share their lives. Everyone should live for themselves and also for their fellow humans. To face reality prepares one for life. As people grow older and wiser, they see many things differently which in itself, prepares us for living. As graduating Seniors, we would like to dedicate this 1972-73 edition of Buffalo Trails to our fellow classmates. We wish each a successful life. Stadium Jr. High «fc— Special Education Vocational Building Reading Lab MR. PARKER, Superintendent In these times of unrest, let us be reminded that our great growth in the past came from our educa- tional system. May we all be awakened to the truth that only education can provide the solid, constructive, creative changes that will improve our school, community, nation, and world. 6 MRS. GLENN MRS. BRAUDRICK To each of our students, we wish every success as they continue to seek and reach educational goals before them. May we each achieve self- discipline, Christian citizenship, personal charac- ter, happiness and mental discipline. We congratulate our annual staff and their ad- visor for an outstanding edition of Buffalo Trails' 1972-73. This book makes a definite contribution to our students and staff of Hugo High School. Let each of us continue to accept the opportuni- ties and responsibilities before us to serve those about us and to make Hugo High School an ever greater center for learning. MR BOLIN MRS. To most of us, we think of the good memories of the past eleven years of school that we have shared. We now have the future ahead of us - a step which leads toward our lives ahead. We hope we have set a good example for the classes behind us. As Seniors we are proud to say that we are the victori- ous Seniors of 73! ” Monda and Mike represent Seniors. We sing our songs and live our lives and we stand ready to shape the society we will rule. Let us remember the excitement of a united spirit, the challenge of knowledge, the warmth of a smile, and the endless march of Time itself. Let us remember what we have learned and let us learn from what we remember. Ours is a society held in esteem by many and in contempt by few. The annals of history are filled with our accomplishments and are tainted by our mistakes. We are fast approaching the time when we will hold the pen that writes the history our children will study. Form to suit yourself. You can be high if you want to. Today I am the wind Today 1 stand unmoved Tomorrow I will fly Tomorrow 1 will race with the birds And I will win Because I am the wind. 74 We are but a small splash in society. In God's eyes we hold a large place.
