During the last decade the great nations of the world have become engaged in a race for leadership. This race for leadership is also a contest for the minds of men. In this struggle knowledge is power and knowledge is acquired through education. So, it would seem that to the nation whose people are the best educated will go the laurel of victory. Every student who aspires to be a good American should acquire the best educa- tion available to him. In so doing he becomes a contributor to the power essential to keeping our nation in its position of leadership among the nations of the earth. Any student who does less than his best at all times is failing his country, his family and himself.

Dedication As you turn these pages before you, turn, also, through the store of mem- ories of the past years. You will see again the friends you made, recall the dreams you dreamed, ponder the gay evenings of social activity, and remem- ber the many hours spent in study. High School life includes many events. There are those big unforgetable moments—pep assemblies, football and basketball games we have won, senior week, and finally our biggest hour, graduation. All of these events, both large and small, go together to form the memories of high school days. When the seniors realized that these were their final months of fun and frolic, they bade good-bye to their school and friends of many years. And as the juniors move up and fill the senior places, we hope that they will have as many good times and pleasant memories. Yes, we truly have these moments to remember. Ruth Ann Griffith Editor
