The Annual Staff of Hugo High School Presents With Pride The I960 Buffalo Trails In Recognition of all Graduates of Hugo High School Hugo, Oklahoma Volume VII One of the most outstanding qualities of Hugo High School is school spirit. In the 1959-1960 edition of Buffalo Trails, we have attempted to catch the expression of this quality in the faces of the students. We sincerely hope that every phase of life at Hugo High School is represented. In the future we hope that this book will be among your most treasured possessions and on some page, there is something just for you. LOYALTY.COURAGE.AND WISDOIA WE’VE GAINED THROUGH ALL THE YEARS AND BY GOD'S GRACE WE WILL SOON TAKE OUR PLACE TREASURING MEMORIES THROUGH SMILES AND TEARS Dedication Every class in Hugo High School has a share in the upholding of tradition and the sustaining of school spirit. However, I believe that the one which contributes the most is the Senior class. Not merely the Seniorclassof 1959-60, but the Seniors of the past and future. While underclassmen tend to conserve theirspirit and enthusiasm, Seniors always enter a thing wholeheartedly as they realize that they may never do it again. It is to these people, the Seniors of the past, the Seniors of 1959-60, and the Seniors of the future that we respectfully dedicate this volume of Buffalo Trails. Carlene Clancy Editor WE LEAVE THESE HALLS FAR BEHIND US AND THOUGH WE CO FAR AWAY WE’LL ALWAYS BE. By which the violets grow? T'wos here in '63 There occurred a violent show. And I, a wounded soldier, lay Helpless 'neoth the sky so gray; T'was here I heard the bugle sing. Saw the banner, heard the cannons ring. 1 saw my regiment's banner sway. Held my breath, and saw it stay. But now those days of violent war Are cast aside, like a sword I once wore And here I am, I wearily say. Sitting here, day by day.
