- ----.-U, 5--1-...NJ EXPRESSION IN SIGHT - Q Q 46 M si PROBLEMS OF DEMOCRACY The obiectives of the course in Prob- Iems of Democracy are to bring in each of the forty-tive seniors the everyday social, economic and political problem each must meet throughout life. This is done through informal discussions, for- ums, outside speakers and tests. The class is taught by Mr. Schaefer. VOCATIONAL HOME ECONOMICS The Junior and Senior classes ot the Vocational Home Economics Department have received study in advanced units. The units of work include: Home Furnish- ing, Foods, Nutrition, Tailoring in Cloth- ing, Child Care and Home Nursing. Demonstrations, entertainments, ex- periments, and field trips have presented actual problems studied and developed by this advanced group in the field of homemaking. The class is supervised by Mrs. Merrell. BUSINESS EDUCATION The Business Education Department plays an important part in the economic and social stability of our community. From this department, the students may secure a position immediately or go on to college, as a number of our former Business Education students have done. The seniors in this department typed the four issues of our school paper and the dummy copy for the yearbook, be- sides many special programs and papers. 133,
