Student participation and great opportunities for leadership arise as weekly chapter programs are con- ductetl. The state program of work is ttevt-lopt-tl to hest fit the chapter needs through the st-hoo'l, home. selves, and community. During the past summer XVihna Broam, Lois Long, Doris Farrar and Helen Herring with their chapter ad- viser, Mrs. Merrell, and county adviser, Miss Avalyn M. Kiser, participated in and attended the First National Convention of F. H. A. in Kansas City, Missouri. They were honored hy being invited to present the emhlein service which originated in Lycoming County. Lois Lanna Long was elected state treasurer of F. ll. A. at the state convention in Johnstown, Pa. She also holds the office of county F. H. A. secretary. Three chapter members or delegates attend the monthly county meet- ings. All members joined in the Xoxemher i'XYorld Christ- mas Festixali' hy sending a Christmas gitt overseas to a needy 'iteen-agerf' A Christmas dinner with a program was presented Decemher ll, for all mothers. Une lnintlred daughters and mothers enjoyed the foods prepared, the Christmas decorations, the holiday program and a chance to h'ecoine acquainted with the chapter activities of the home eco- nomics department. The F. ll. A. sponsors the school lunch program during the winter weeks. An average of IT5 have heen served daily. Complete cooperation antl definite or- ganization hax c made this project a pleasure for all.
