On The souTh lawn bordering McMillan sTreeT, boys and girls Talce a liTTle promenade during The TourTh bell and occasionally resT on The lawns in warm weaTher. The Deaconess l-lospiTal is locaTed on The norTh side oT Old Hughes. This shady porTion is always quieT, because sTudenTs, in an eTTorT noT To disTurb The hospiTal, do noT gaTher here. SiTTing on The greaT sTone ledges or sTanding on The TronT plaza, one sees The UniversiTy oT Cin- cinnaTi spread over iTs greaT span oT TerriTory. DirecTly across Trom Hughes is The U. C. Law School. Daily aT The end oT The lunch period sTudenTs waTch The Air Corps CadeTs march Through The UniversiTy grounds To class. A usual sighT To l-luziTes are The nurses nexT door hurrying To go on duTy. There is an ever-presenT hum oT sTreeT cars. From The norTh and ouTlying suburbs comes The CliTTon-Ludlow and Trom The easT and all TransTer poinTs in ThaT direcTion comes The CrossTown.
