FOREWORD Tillotson wrote: Ignorance and inconsideration are the two great causes of the ruin of mankind. The classroom is the place where a willing student can be taught and learn how to acquire know- ledge. In school he must practice to- learnl consider- ation of others as well. The members of the graduating class of 1966 have seen l'consideration in action. Hughes Evening High School is a mixing pot of varied age groups, nationalities and. races. The hours spent here are more than time spent in a quest for knowledge. They are an adventure in understanding and acceptance. It matters not what we do after we leave H.E.H.S. A few graduates will achieve prominence in various walks. Others will attain recognition in their own sphere of influence only. To some, graduation is the culmination of a dream. For others, it is the bridge to abeginning. No matter what our Alma Mater has meantto us as individuals, if we have learned CONSIDERATION we are ready for graduation. Helen S. Wilson

We Dedicate This Year's ECHO To The Following: Miss Ella Sudbrink Our annual is a threefold dedication this year. Miss Ella Sudbrink, Mr. Chester Murphy, and Mr. Ed Kipp will be honored by the Echo for having provided nearly a century of service to H.E.H.S. Miss Sudbrink has been teaching in Adult Education over thirty years. Most of her career has been dedicated to H.E.H.S. Through her ser- vice countless numbers of students have been given that little bit extra. In addition to teaching, Miss Sudbrink has also devoted a number of years to Spanish stenographic and correspondence work. She received both her B.A. and. B.E. degrees from the University of Cincinnati. When time allows she likes to cook, read or work in her garden. Mr. Chester Murphy has been with the evening schools for over thiry years, teaching History and the Inter-workings of the U. S. Government. Mr. Murphy came to Cincinnati after ser- ving as principal of Reading High School in Reading Ohio. We the students feel very fortunate in coming under the tutuledge of such a wonderful man as Mr. Chester Murphy. Mr. Edgar F. Kipp has been associated with this evening school since 1928. In 1933 Mr. Kipp enrolled here as a full time student and was one of the outstanding students in his class. Upon graduation 1936, he was employed by the school as manager and secretary of the bookroom. Mr. Kipp served in World War II. Mr. Kipp is treasurer of H.E.H.S. and during the day is the head of the sales depart- ment of the E. A. Kinsey Co. The students over the years have affectionately referred to Ed as Mr. West Knight .
