3A9 WESTKNIGHT 620 1963 THE ADMI NISTRATORS THE ADMINISTRATION The administrators are the executives of our educational System. Through the efforts of these men, the complex problems of a large school must be solved. Among the many duties of the school officials are: student records, scheduling and management of student activities. In general, the super- vision of both students and teachers is the responsibility of the administrative staff. Fifty years ago the problems of the administrationiwere unlike those of today. The high school courses offered at that time were strictly academic subjects, desired only by the students who sought a college degree. Today, however, the school officials must meet the challenge of vast industrial differences. It is the duty of the administration to guarantee a useful education to each student, regardless of his economic status. The administrative staff is constantly striving to raise the standards of the school. Each-year the curriculum is broadened by the addition of new classes or improved by changes in existing classes. Throughout our country, our educational leaders are conducting research experiments to increase the educational opportunities of the individual. Hughes Evening High School is privileged to have an out- standing administration. These men are alert and interested, not only in the school, but also in the welfare of the com- munity. It is in their hands and in the hands of educators like them that the destiny of our country is molded.
