With foreign languages, English, and social studies courses being neces- sary for graduation and later college, teachers realize that they must motivate their stu- dents to excel in these areas. The teachers in these as well as in allcourses at Cummings care enough to make the academic difference. The quality of the Cummings High School math department is evident in the high SAT scores of Cummings stu- dents and the many awards won each year in competitions. Biology classes prepare students for college courses in fields such as pharmacy and dentistry. Mr. Cook's dreaded, but fun, chemistry and physics classes go right along with algebra and trigonometry. Cummings is fortunate to have the excellent science and math departments that it does.
