Economics Class The study of the business life of our nation — our economy and how it functions. The course is introductory in nature and includes the principles essential to an understanding of fundamental economic problems and the policy alternatives society may utilize to contend with these problems. Consumership, investment, stock market, insurance, employment, mills, labor unions, banks and money make the frame- work for much of the course’s content. Family Life Class 134 This course is planned for both boys and girls at the upper high school level and is directed toward preparation for marriage and homemaking for those who have had little or no home economics. Instruction covers nutrition and preparation, care and selection of clothing, grooming and personal appearance, health and safety in the home, spend- ing the family income, family relationships and child development; preparation for marriage; es- tablishing and furnishing a home.

Physical Education Class The primary purpose of the Physical Education Il program is to continue the program on a more complex level. Higher skill activities and more individual and team sports are offered. These activities are selected to give each individual an opportunity to develop physical skills, knowledge, and social value that may be used now and in later life. Sociology Class A study of man’s relationship to man in our complex’ society, and the role each must play in group living. Men living in a culture, both primi- tive and highly scientific are studied in relation to their institutions especially the home and family, religion, and community. Social and environment problems will be analyzed and some possible so- lutions discussed. 136
