The Time Has Come Now even though I say goodbye, I know that nothing is lost. Because I've gained and leaned and loved. Because our paths have crossed. Seniors 201 The time has come to say goodbye. The time has come to part But as long as I have memo- ries. I'll hold you in my heart. May there be no sadness of farewell For in memories our friendship lives on forever.

Passing me are the high school days, with college just a breath away: My hopes, my fears, my laughter and tears. and all the reminants I hold dear. A freshman then, all the worse, the upperclassmen knew it first The giggles came when lost in the halls. Change to the awe at Senior laws. The semesters fly by, the years are gone, the junior chant the best of songs. As active and sociable as any junior can be, that year poured sheer happiness into me. The younger years were childhood days but seniors must show better ways. As eighteen approaches and we are adults. Maturity and responsibility are the results. Love and ambition push out the doubts. So I am ready for the world about. As the years draw on I will cry If I ever forget Hueneme High. Barbara Jane Kelley

A VOYAGE INTO LIFE Standing proud red and white cap and gown Memories reflecting streaming tears, future a gleaming smile Graduation day will always be remembered And the yesteryears of games, proms and laughter never forgotten. Knowing all to well that the Viking Ship has docked, — the voyage has ended. The 1978 passengers leave the deck, leave four well-remembered years. Those years that became a part of our existence, of what we are, and conceive ourselves to become. Hands now grasping newly received passports to the fulure- the future voyages of our universal lives. Arms embracing ourmates, those with whom we've shared so much! Voices chanting Bon Voyage meaning Goodbye , The partings that throb the heart to cry. Yet we must continue to sail Though we may never pass this way again Each man bears his own name upon his own ship And a freedom to set sail to a destination of his — leading to his own shore however, uncertain or secure that may be. As we continue our lives, we carry that of which We were willing to learn of the words- the words engraved upon our Senior rings Honor, Fidelity, and Wisdom And that of which we wish to remember. I believe that all will, if just for a time. Voyage into the spirit of harmony and peace. And to all good luck ... and may our paths of friendship be crossed again! By: Yvette Quintero 202 Seniors
