The Marching Band has been in existence for 16 years. It has been under the direction of Clinton Dawley for the past three years. The students of the band participate in many different fund raisers, some of wich are; rock- a-thon, play-a-thon, bake sales and car washes. The Band has gone to many different events, and has won many diffrent awards. Some of these and awards arc; Lone Beach Half Time Competion- second place 1976, Santa Monica, California Band Review, Chaffy Tournament of Bands - Frist runner-up, 1977, All Western- fifth place 1974, Camarillo Band Review-se- cond place 1976, 1977, Oxnard Chrestmas Parade-third place 1976, and Sweepstakes 1977, Ventura County Fair Parade, and a num- ber of school half time shows. The band not only does these things, it also serves as a pep band for basketball games and assemblies. 103
