THESPIANS Thespians is a national society which is devoted to the advancement of the dramatic arts. Although Thespians does not present plays, it assists the Drama Department with the production and presentation of plays pre- sented throughout the year. CXjlil The Viking Shielil is published monthly as an extra-curricular activity by the students of do O Ji 'YWO - Hueneme High School. The members of the staff, under the direction of Mrs. Price, put in many 1! cddo-c O v A crv J long hours preparing the ShieUl for publication. The'Shield strives tirpromote excellence in the field of journalism while at the same time presenting itself as a voice of the student body. It brings the students an up-to-date report on school activities. Jim Hammond, Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper, represents the Shield in the student government class. In addition to being a member of the Quill and Scroll, which is an honorary journalism society, the Shield staff attends the annual Edward A. Dickson Journalism Day at 188 U.C.L.A.
