Golf Team Leaves Their Mark in a Tough New League The 1984-1985 season proved to be a fine one for the Eagle golf team whose overall record was 13-8, and league record was an impressive 8-4. The Eagles took second place in the league. Outstanding Athletes for the Eagles were )im Aylworth and Tim Frazier, both were named to the All- Conference Team with averages of 40.8 and 40.5 respectively. Most Im- proved went to Joe Hovingh with a 42.4 average and Chris Warners with a 46 average. Most Valuable went to Jim Aylworth and Tim Frazier. The Highlight of the year was when the Eagles won the O-K Cold conference Match at Fairway Estates. Con- gratulations to Coach Jim Hulst and the whole team on a super season. 30 Cress Ccuntry Gees Cc-Ed The Cross Country team was the first one since 1975 and the first girls team ever in Hudsonville. They were an excellent group and showed great improvement throughout the season. Ken Wolters and Lynne Vande Bunte were chosen for the Ottawa County All County Team. Two school records were also set at the All Conference Meet by Ken Wolters and Lynne Vande Bunte in the 5,000 m run. Ken Wolters placed fourth with 17:16 and Lynne Vande Bunte placed second with 21:38. Ken Wolters showed remarkable talent throughout the season and was voted as the only sophomore in the league as All Conference in the O.K. Cold. Lynne Vande Bunte and Sharon VanDer Kolk, who ran neck and neck the whole season, were also Outstanding Girls runners. Mr. Kasteline commented, It was an ex- cellent group of people — very sup- portive of each other — a true team.
