Co-Valedictorian Roger Miller will be remembered by the seniors and faculty as a student who possessed a high degree of conscientious perserverance. His academic record, as expressed by a grade-point average of 3.94 points out of a possible 4.00, reflects this characteristic. Roger has represented our class on the student council this year, being especially active in formulating the new student council constitution. He is planning to enter Hope College in the Fall, continuing his education towards a career in science. We congratulate him on his achievement in high school and wish him continued success as he journeys onward. Salutatorian Our salutatorian, Marcia Brandt, attained an average of 3.86 out of a possible 4.00 points to win this distinction. None of us who knew her well are surprised by this achievement, for we had marked her long ago as a person of high intelligence who found a high degree of success in everything she attempted. Her pleasing personality and boundless energy undoubtedly were responsible to a great extent for the financial success of this publication, for she was a co-business man- ager. She carries our best wishes for the future as she enters the business world after graduation. Co-Valedictorian Tom Warke, in attaining the co-valedictorianship of our class, climaxed a brilliant high school record with a 3.94 average out of a possible 4.00. He has been marked as a leader by his fellow students, most recently serving as our class president. As our annual goes to press, Tom has reached the finalist stage in both the National Merit and General Motors Scholarship Programs. This is a distinction re- served for 7300 of the nation's top seniors. We are proud of Tom and wish him continued success as he enters Kalamazoo College next Fall. 13
