a ledictorian Judith Van Houten “You simply can't resist those eyes! And does she use them - sure, she tries.” Judy has earned the highest scholastic rank for the honor of valedictorian by maintaining an all A record throughout her high school years. She was born September 14, 1938, in Coopersville. She attended grade school for the first two years at Comstock Park and third through eighth grades at Jenison Christian. All four years of high school were spent at Hudsonville where she was elected to the National Honor Society in her junior year, and served as its president in her senior year. She was a member of the Booster Club for two years, and the girls' basketball team for three years. In her senior year, the team, on which she was a star, won the Ke-Naw-Wa League championship. She served on the Buzzer Staff during her freshman year, and on the Student Council as a sophomore. In her senior year she was elected secretary and was appointed co-editor of the Pioneer Staff. She plans to enroll at Grand Rapids Junior College where she will take a practical nursing course. Paul Huizenga “The modest man has everything to gain.” Paul has won second place in the class for the high honor of salutatorian. and was also a charter member of the newly formed chapter of the National Honor Society to which he was elected in his junior year. Paul was bom September 7, 1938, in Jamestown, where he attended elemen- tary school. During all four years at Hudsonville High School he was a member of both the band and pep band, and was president of the organiza- tion in his senior year. He sang in the chorus for two years. In his third year he had a part in the junior play, and was elected as our school's repre- sentative to the Wolverine Boys’ State in Lansing. He served as vice president of his class in his sophomore year and was elected Senior Class President in which capacity he was an important member of the Student Council. In his senior year he helped form a Future Teacher's Club as a Stu- dent Council project. He intends to enter Hope College and major in education. rian 13
