Dear H. H. S. Underclassmen, Just a little note to tell you about our 4 years. It was not all play but quite a bit of work. We started in High School just as green as you were, but look how we turned out! You can do the same too, if you'll follow order in our footsteps. As we stepped onto the prison grounds we were suddenly faced with a large group of upperclassmen who gently tried to lay the law down to us. We chose for our class officers President, Nella Mae Lubbinga; Vice President, Allen Takken; Secretary-Treasurer, Kay Schut. We selected Mrs. Van Zoren and Mr. Welton for our Class Sponsors. We had a hayride for our class party and all had a verY good time. When we advanced to Sophomores we elected for President, Virginia Warke; Vice President, Dale VerMeer; Secretary, Geraldine Butterman; Treasurer, Nancy Vanden- Bosch; Student Council, Linda Alward and Don DeJongh. Next came our money mad Junior year. We had more fun working hard at all the games to make money for our Senior Trip. Also this year we received our Class Rings, and we thought they were the nicest ones ever chosen. Our Jr. Sr. Banquet went over with a bang! Completing the decorations late in the afternoon we had to rush home to get ready for the big evening but it was well worth it! Our theme was Oriental Gardens. The blue sky, the Rock Garden and the Wishing Well really set off the theme. Our class put on a fine play entitled State Fair under the direction of Mr. A. DeJonge and Mrs. Barbara Henninges. Our head officials this year were President, Don DeJongh; Vice President, Loren Brandt; Treasurer, Linda Alward and Dale VerMeer; Student Council, Marilyn Ver Strate and Jack Blair. Our sponsors were Mr. Gerkin and Mr. Petroelje. At last we have climbed to the top of the ladder. As Seniors, Don DeJongh was our President, Sandra Zwagerman, our Vice President, Kay Schut and Marv Folkert were Treasurers, and Pat Butler was our Secretary. For Student Council we selected Geraldine Butterman and Dale Ver Meer. During this school term we had many different activities for making money. First, selling magazines and cards. Next, suppers of different kinds. Another big money project was our Senior Play Shy Guy. At last our work is over and we can enjoy ourselves on our Senior Trip, a boat cruise to Detroit, Mackinac Island and Chicago. Our class motto is Through Trials to Triumph. We chose blue and white for our class colors and the White Rose for our class flower. As you can see this hasn't been a bit dull, now, has it? So the best of luck to the underclassmen. We hope you have as much fun and as much cooperation from the stu- dent body.and the faculty as we did. Sincerely Yours, Senior Class. 14 Compliments of K K MFG. CO.
