SENIOR CLASS HISTORY October 5, I960 began one of the most memorable and momentous occasions of our lives. We spent 4 wonderful days in Washington, D. C. with Mrs. Me Fail and Mr. Lee. The school year was almost concluded tor us when we held our class night. Everyone enjoyed it. but we were well aware there was only one occasion Left for us as seniors to be upon the Huston stage again. We. the seniors of 1961 entered the gymnasium on Sunday, May 21. 1961 to attend our own commencement exercises. We gratefully received our diplomas and began the trek down the aisle' towards a life of our own, however, we would never forget our high school days as they were the mold for our Later life. —Vicki McGaha LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We the Seniors of'61 of Huston Township High School, city of Pen- field. county of Clearfield, state of Pennsylvania, being of sound mmdand body do hereby proclaim this, our last will and testament, thus annulling any previous statement declared by the student body. Article I . . . To the school we leave our sincere thanks for the education we have received. Article II. . To the faculty: A. To Mr. Fenchak we leave the peace and quiet of first period. B. To Mrs. Me Fall, our advisor, we leave our sin- cere thanks and deepest gratitudedorall the help she gave us in our high school years. C. To Mr. Cheslock we leave all the fun we had in gym class. D. We had become juniors We began by electing officers on September 11, 1959 who were; President: John Vargas Vice-President; Charles Hahn Secretary; Teddy Walters Treasurer; Vicki McGaha Class Advisor; Mrs, Mcfall Paula Miller and Paul Krlcger had moved to DuBois, Pennsylvania during the summer. We gained James Assalone, thus making our enroll- ment 17--10 hoys anti 7 girls. Playing varsity basketball fromthe Junior class were John Vargas, Juries Mshn, f randsChlodo, Leslie Van Horn, and Dallas Pane. Cheer- ing on the varsily squad was Vicki McGaha. Our money-making projects during the year were selling Sloppy Joes Christmas candy, awl books entitled School Daze. Sponsored by the junior class was a beautiful, successful prom on May 14, 1959. We became the most envied class of H.T.H.S. on August 29, 1960. We elected our officers on September 13, 1960 who were: President: John Vargas Vice-President: Rose Ousherowski Secretary: Teddy Walters Treasurer: Vicki McGaha Class Advisor: Mrs. Me Fall Advertisements for the yearbook (The Deacon) were solicited for In the iate part of September. William Scanish leaves his books to whoever wants them. James Assalone leaves his good looks to Bobby Rucinski. Donna Lucore leaves her farming ability to John Bundy. Teddy Walters leaves his bookkeeping ability to Kathy Snyder. Dallas Pane leaves his car troubles to Ronnie Mitchell. John Vargas leaves his height to Richie Levendusky. Vivian Challingsworth leaves her temper to Joyce Snyder. Francis Chiodo leaves his noisy habits to Billy Buganza. Charles Hahn leaves his charms with the girls to Unzoons. Patty Forsythe leaves her ability to get along with Mrs. McFall to Vaughn Garvin. Frances Beck just leaves. Vicki McGaha leaves her cheering ability to Diana Maholtz. Judy DeSalve leaves her quietness to Dorothy Seduski. Rose Gusherowski leaves her giggle to Jean Cheslock. Clifford Plaszenski leaves a certain freshman girl. Betty Munn leaves her bashfulness to Irene Smart. --Rose Gusherowski SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Upon graduation we are starting anew As we try to decide what we shall do Looking into the future, we see The happenings of nineteen-sixty three. Rose Gusherowski a teacher will be teaching our third graders in nineteen-seventy three. Leslie Van Horn a Linotypist we’ll see making a newspaper in some big city. Judy DeSalve a nurse to be will soon take care of you and me. James Assalone a draftsman will be drawing outlines for buildings in Washington D. C. Francis Friday a jet pilot we’ll bet scanning the sky in a streamlined jet. Frances Beck is bringing patriotism back for she is going to join the WACS. M
