Aileen Nelson Linda Riccadonna JUNIOR VARSITY CHEERLEADERS The Jay Vee Cheerleaders started their 1957-58 basketball season with four experienced cheerleaders-Karen Winkler, Joan Carroll, Linda Candido, and Catherine Munn. Katherine Plaxenski was elected from the Junior Class and Judith DeSalve from the Freshman Class to complete the sextette. The girls worked very hard in making new cheers and supporting their team and have had a very successful season. Karen Winkler

BEACON STAFF The following were elected by the Senior Class to be on the Beacon Staff; Editor-Alice Riccadonna, Co-editor-Mary Lou Fava, and Business Manager- Mary Ann Carroll. The directors were Mrs. McFall and Mr. Chiodo. Mrs. McFall choose the following to solicit for the year book; Mary Ann Carroll, Mary Lou Fava, Alice Riccadonna, Patty Newell, Marena Cataldo, and Yvonne Renwick. Mary Lou Fava SEXTET The following were members of the Sextet: Sopranos-Linda Candido and Janet Assalone Second Sopranos-Alice Riccadonna and Aileen Nelson Altos-Patty Newell and Judy Weaver The Sextet sang several selections between acts during the Senior Class Play. We attended County Chorus, sang at Commencement and other activities. Our Sextet is under the direction of Mrs. Hazel Jameson. Janet Assalone HELPING HAND CLUB The Helping Hand Club is composed of sixteen members and is under the direction of Mr. Boyer. During the year the club did many useful things such as painting, repairing furniture, library work, and taking care of the school grounds. The girls have also worked on health cards and registers. Mary Lou Fava OUTDOORS CLUB During our first meeting we elected club officers. They were: President- John Potempa, Vice P r e s i d e n t-John Vargas, Secretary-Neil Rogers, and Treasurer-David Rucinski. All club meetings were held on Wed., third period. At the beginning of the year we had a demonstration on how to shoot a bow. We had numerous motion pictures about forest and forest products. During the year we talked about travel in the woods. We have sixteen members in our club and Mr. Cheslock is our advisor. Neil Rogers HOMEMAKING CLUB On Sept. 17, we held our first meeting and elected the following officers; President-Barbara Gusherowski, Vice President-Mary Ann Carroll, Secretary- Treasurer-Mary Ann Cheslock. Our sponsor was Mrs. McFall. The club consists of sixteen members. We made earrings and corsages for Christmas and we have seen films which were of aid to our group. The school has furnished many books and pamphlets for our club. We also learned about etiquette, glass- ware, silverware, and materials for different kinds of occasions. Catherine Webb DANCING CLUB On Sept. 17 we held our first meeting and elected the following officers; President-Karen Winkler, Vice President-J o a n Carroll, Secretary-Carol Michuck, and Treasurer-Paula Miller. Our sponsor was Miss Robacker. The club consists of 22 members. We have learned many dances and also about etiquette in dancing. Nellie Bundy
