 BASEBALL This year, as in several previous years, our high school sponsored a baseball team. The outstanding players were selected from the student body and they proved to be capable of doing the job for which they were selected. They played many of the area teams and with the help of Mr. Fenchak as coach they completed a very successful season. Alice Riccadonna BASKETBALL The Huston Trojans started the 57- '58 season with practice sessions in November. The Coach, Mr. Cheslock, picked the following boys for the team: Seniors-Ralph Assalone, Robert Glass, Robert Scanish, Ronald Michuck, and Thomas Vargas. Juniors-Guido Riccadonna, John Potempa, Mickey Manoltz, Edward Clinton, and David Rucinski. Of the games played to date, the team has not been too successful, winning only one game out of fifteen. Mr. Cheslock and the players have worked very hard all season and although they didn't win too many games, they still feel that they had a very successful season. Another important part of basketball season was done by Marena Cataldo who was score-keeper, had charge of the publicity of the games, and had the results published. Mr. Cheslock is the Jay Vee coach. Laverne Van Horn INTER-MURAL BASKETBALL A new feature at Huston High this year was a basketball league composed of nine teams of students. They were given the names of college teams and during the noon hour period games were scheduled. The varsity basketball players took turns as officials of the games. All the students from eighth grade to twelfth participated. They feel that they benefited greatly from it. Alice Riccadonna
