CLASS POEM When we opened the High School door It was the year of 54. Nor our future we must weave For Huston Hi we will leave. Faculty and friends we are here to say That we must be on our way. All this we're going to leave And to think of this makes us grieve. We chose for our colors Blue and White Which we will wear graduation night. Also to go with that we chose To wear the beautiful Yellow Rose. Now we are going our separate ways To use our knowledge in future days We will always stand by old Alma Mater Climb Though The Way Be Rugged. JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY We entered high school on August 29, 1955 with an enrollment of 27 students, 11 girls and 16 boys. On September 1, 1955, we held our first class meeting and elected the following officers: President . . . Shirley Vargas; Secretary . . . Patty Rucinski; Vice President . . . Jackie Hudsick; Treasurer . . . Katherine Plazenski. Mr. Dardes was our class advisor. The three students elected to represent our class in the student council were Joanne Miller, Eddie Clinton, and Mickey Mahotz. Some of the students took an active part in basketball as Junior Varsity players and cheerleaders. On August 28, 1956 we entered our Sopho nore year with an enrollment of 27, having lost David Smart and gaining Joyce Assalone. On a previous date we had selected the following officers: President . . . John Potempa; Secretary . . . Shirley Vargas; Vice President . . . William DeSalve; Treasurer . . . Barbara Gusherowski. Our advisor was Mr. Chiodo. Our class sponsored a V lentine Party. We entered our Junior year on September 3 with an enrollment of 27, having lost Henry McCracken and gaining Evelyn McKendrick. We held our class meeting on September 11 and the following were elected: President . . . Judy Levenduski; Secretary . . . Patty Rucinski; Vice President . . . Shirley Vargas; Treasurer . . . Barbara Gusherowski. Our advisor was Mrs. McFall. On September 30, we selected our class rings. During the year we sponsored our Junior Class Play and honored the seniors at a banquet.
