SENIOR CLASS HISTORY The day had finally arrived-August 31, 1954-the day, we, the Senior Class of '58, entered High School. With the help of the teachers and upperclassmen it didn't take our 28 students long to get used to high school life. On Sept. 10 at our first class meeting the officers elected were: President . . . Donald Miller; Secretary . . . Alice Riccadonna; Vice President . . . Sally Batterson; Treasurer . . . John Zernell. Our advisor was Mr. Benzie. Later in the year Linda Riccadonna took over the duties as treasurer. Yvonne Johnson and Patricia Newell were elceted to the student council. The Junior Class welcomed us with an Initiation Party. During the course of the year we sponsored a skating party in Clearfield and a wiener roast at Parker Dam. Almost everyone became interested in either basketball, cheering, music, or journalism. We began our sophomore year with an enrollment of 25, having lost Aletha Harrison, Donna Rhoads, and Donna Parks. On Sept. 6 a class meeting was called and the new officers elected were the following: President . . . Neil Rogers; Secretary . . . Eddie Seduski; Vice President . . . Patty Newell; Treasurer . . . Alice Riccadonna. Our advisorwas Mrs. McFalland those elected to the student council were John Zernell, Robert Blake, and Yvonne Johnson. We had no major events during our Sophomore year but all to soon it was over, and we were in the whirl of events that come with being a Junior. Our class stillnumbered 25, because we lost Anna Longo but gained Ronald Mullen. On August 31 at our class meeting the following received the honor of being the Junior Clas8 Officers: President . . . Mary Lou Fava; Secretary . . . Yvonne Johnson; Vice President . . . Robert Glass; Treasurer . . . Patty Newell. Our advisor was Mr. Cheslock. The biggest event of our Junior Year was the purchasing of class rings. We presented our Junior Play Desperate Ambrose. Another noteworthy event was the Christmas Party sponsored by our class for the entire school. Toward the end of the year we sold cards and the last event was the Junior- Senior Banquet on May 15. And now came the fourth and greatest year in the history of our class. We began our senior year on Sept. 3 with an enrollment of 22 because of having lost Sally Batterson, John Zernell, and Ronald Mullen. When our first class meeting was held the following received the distinction of being the senior class officers: President . . . Mary Lou Fava; Secretary . . . Alice Riccadonna; Vice President . . . Robert Glass; Treasurer . . . Patty Newell. Our advisor was Mr. Chiodo. We also chose royal blue and white for our class color s and the yellow rose for our flower. Our motto was Climb Though the Way Be Rugged.

Our first project was a magazine campaign and later we sold school pins. Throughout the year we sponsored Hot Dog Day'1, which was held every Thurs- day at both schools. Again our dramatic talent was put to use ‘when we presented our Senior Play, We 'Dude' It . Our final large project was a candy sale at Christmas time, which proved to be very successful. A number of Seniors gained distinction during the year and the following were on the honor roll: Alice Riccadonna, Patricia Newell, Nellie Bundy, and Aileen Nelson. Many others received recognition in basketball, music, etc. that will long be remembered. On May 14, 15, and 16 we went on our Washington Trip, a never to be for- gotten event. Soon after we returned we were honored by the Junior Class at a wonderful banquet. On May 27 our Class Night was held in the Gym and then came June 1, the most memorable day of our lives thus far. We proudly marched up the aisle to receive our diplomas. It gave us a feeling of satisfaction and achievement mingled with one of regret to leave the school where we had spent so many happy hour 8. But wait! It isn't over yet. On June 5 we were hosts to the High School at the annual picnic and not long after we were honored guests at the annual Alumni Banquet. We take the opportunity now to say thank you to everyone who has helped us reach our goal and also that we hope we will always be remembered by the faculty and the people of the town as the wonderful class of 1958.
