STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council is composed of twelve members, three from each class. Our first meeting was held on September 13, 1955. We elected the following officers: President JoAnn Georgino Vice-President Beverly Miller Secretary Patricia Wallace Treasurer Yvonne Johnson We drew up a constitution and decided to have our meetings every Tuesday. The Student Council sponsored dances, roller skating parties and bought bulletin boards for the school. Charles Smith. Ronald Brundridge, Patricia Wallace and JoAnn Georgino accompanied by Mr. Taylor attended the Student Council Con- vention at Middleburg, Pa. on April 13. Patricia Wallace ★ JOURNALISM CLUB The Journalism Club of 1955-56 included: Miss Roberta Sabbato, Ad- visor; Edith Friday, Editor; Antonette Sadowski, Theresa Sadowski Nancy Feldman, Jackie Hudsick, Shirley Vargas and Patricia Rucinski, Reporters. The Journalism Club has the opportunity of writing for the Bennett’s Valley News, the DuBois Courier Express and the Clearfield Progress. School news, society news and sports were submitted by the students. The members of the club took turns reporting news over the Radio Station WKBI, in St. Marys on Tuesdays and Thursdays. News was called in by telephone and tele-tape-recorded. The recording was then played at 4:40 p.m. Sponsors were Patsy Georgino, Ralph Geer and LeRoy Dudley The Student Council of Weedville played host to the Journalism Club at a Christmas Party held on December 19. The Club plans to hold an activity and tour several newspaper plants later in the school year. Edith Ann Friday

Sweaters were awarded to the following seniors: Georgia Challings- worth, JoAnn Georgino, and Patricia Wallace. Letters were awarded to the following girls: Joyce DeSalve, Shirley Smith, and Ailen Nelson. Following the presentations, the varsity cheerleaders presented Coach Taylor and the team with a large, beautifully decorated cake to express appreciation for their contribution to the school’s athletic activity. MUSIC Musical group consists of girls chorus, boys chorus, girls enseemble, and mixed chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Hazel Jameson. Musical programs of the year consisted of the Spring Concert, which was held on April 27, and the Annual County Chorus, which was held at Curwensville Joint High School, and attended by the girls ensemble, Those attending were Helena Gutowski, Donna Snyder, Yvonne Johnson, and Judy Candido (sopranos), Alice Riccadona, Mary Keller Ruth Fossler and Aileen Nelson (second sopranos), Georgia diallings- worth, JoAnn Georgino, Patty Newell, and Sally Batterson (altos). A total of twelve songs were learned by the group of singers. When they went to Curwensville they rehearsed for two days with the officiating choir com- posed of students from other high schools in the County. Patricia Wallace
