Sno Ball 1985 Crystal Masquerade The new 1985 Hudson Royalty: Miss Congeniality- Pam Watson. Second Prin- cess- Marge Hause, First Princess- Dayna Rodahl. and Queen- Laura Johnson. A cold night, a full house, and 43 excited girls all at the Hudson House Inn to celebrate the 1985 Sno Ball. This years theme was “Crystal Masquerade , and each of the girls caried a mask throughout the even- ing. Beth Ruyak was marked as the first woman M.C. for the Sno Ball. Music was provided by the Jim Gardner Band. They performed back- ground for the coronation and played for the dance afterwards. Sno Ball actually began in October of 1984 when the girls were signed up and at- tended meetings. They held a fashion show in November and also were interviewed at WRPX in Hudson. When asked what she did and didn't like about the ex- perience. Lori Young com- mented, “I liked the radio interview, it was fun and a good experience. What I didn’t like was the fashion show. The stage was too small, the train on my dress was too long, and I didn’t want to show the garter!! But I did, I know one thing for sure though. I couldn’t have picked a better Queen myself!” 16 SNO BALL

All Work And No Play? Many of Hudson's youth spent last summer working. Some work to earn money for college and oth- ers just want that extra bit of cash to blow on a weekend. The openings of Hardee’s, Per- kin’s, Super 8, and A W brought more jobs to Hudson. Sue Wilk, who works at Hardee's, told us that, “1 like working there, the hours get late sometimes but the spending money is great.” Jon Livermore, who has been at Getty since last June, likes his job and thinks it's exciting. Nick Ny- seth, who also works at Getty, plans to stay on after graduation and likes his job because, “I have to deal with all types of people.” 1. Everything needs to be fixed.right Nick? 2. Ring it up Brad! 3. John Oehmke assists a customer at Mickle- son's. 4 Scott Pettee cleans up Hardee's. 5. Rick Van Allen wraps up the hamburgers at A W. 6. Jon Livermore rings in lots of gas sales. 18 SUMMER JOBS Hi
