Administration To the Student Body and Log Staff: You have received so much adult advice during these last few critical years that you may be just a little weary of it all. We parents are a problem sometimes and I think that if -we could just convert ourselves into the kind of persons we expect our sons and daughters to be, our examples would shine so brightly that you would follow us with pride. May I, however, pass on to you one Hnal bit of coun- sel. Follow the advice of Socrates and Know thyself. Then select the career which your special talents and interests lit you to do. Apply yourself diligently to both training and the job with honest effort so that you can look yourself in the mirror each morning and say lim doing my best. This is the route to true happiness which comes only when you live the things you believe. Congratulations and best wishes for your success. Dear Seniors: During the history of our country never has there been so much required of high school students as there is today. You are expected to measure up to high stand- ards of achievement and conduct and you, the class of 1961 have set a fine example for underclassmen to follow. Lincoln once said, I will study and prepare myselff' He was a man who had few tools of study, but rarely has a man made so much from so little. With the many tools you have, do your best to study and prepare for a life of real purpose. As you have already found there are many circum- stances of concern to you that you cannot control. Not one of you can control the length of your life, but each of you can control its width and depth by clear think- ing, continued friendliness, active curiosity, and hard work. Best wishes and success to each of you. Sincerely yours, Principal 9 MQ.-evfam-were Sincerely, Superintendent
