Campus Life came and presented an assembly on teenagers. Jon Sundell demonstrated instruments from the Ozarks and sang folk song. Probably the best assembly was presented by Alain Bivus, a French- man from Paris, France, who displayed pantomiming. The Student Council is hoping that the student body will enjoy Jody and Jenifer demonstrating magic and mystery, this spring. There were also a lot of athletic assemblies to support our teams on to victory. There was an assembly to show the student body about politics and what a real debate was like. This assembly was put on by the govern- ment classes. Co-capts.. Don Johnston and Jeff Monahan gave speeches at all of the football assemblies. The theme was “Grand Illusion.” The cafeteria was decorated by the prom com- mittee in a very elegant and unrecognizable way. The ceil- ing was covered with pink, blue, and white streamers with silver stars floating in the heavens. A gorgeous star portal with double arches was placed under the clock. Angel hair, blue lights and some back drop pieces were used to provide a great effect. White curtains backed in pink were used as a formal entrance. The decorated court yard was also used by many who attended. Appetizers, punch, and cake were enjoyed by everyone. Sound Dimensions provided the music, lights, and fog from the fog machine. Don Johnston and Angela Bade were chosen as king and queen. The cafeteria is finally ready. Jim Stevens and Karey Oadzinski pose for a picture. Mark Hoffman and Ann Aldrich. Defeating Clinton by a score of 40 to 13, the Tigers played excellent offense and defense. Bryan Thomas was the leading scorer, and Jim Stevens brought down the most Redskins to halt their offense. Halftime activities featured floats from every class and a homecoming queen was chosen. The theme for the floats was songs, with the Senior class float, “Sailing Away with a Victory”, taking first place. Sophomores took second place with ‘‘Another One Bites the Dust”. Juniors took part by entering their float ‘‘Turn the Page”, and Freshmen did a good job on their entry, ‘‘Stomp”. The Homecoming court consisted of nine girls escorted by their fathers. Senior candidates for the crown were; Angela Bade, Julie Ingram, and Pamela Ward. Angela Bade was crowned queen by the team captains. The queens court consisted of two representatives from Junior, Sophomore, and Freshmen classes. The representatives from the Junior class were Billinda Aldrich and Sue Schaffner. The Sophomores were Val Braun and Lesa Forfinski, and Freshmen Chris Handy and Lisa Lamb. The Tigers 1980 Homecoming was a great success, and we hope that their will be many more like it. They must obtain satisfactory rat- ings in leadership and service to their school and community. On November 7, 1980, the National Honor Society held their annual Rockathon and earned $1,700. $600 of the money earned goes to the NHS Scholarship and $1,100 went to the family of Duaine Wolf. NHS members rock the night away. 10 7 The 1980-81 yearbook had its share of problems and setbacks last year, but we think the results are worth the trouble. Mr. Lawrence started the year as advisor and got the book off to a good start. At the end of first semester Mr. Kugler became the advisor and we began to work toward our deadlines. Then “senioritis” set in and it was left for the 1981-82 staff to finish the book. Thanks go to Mr. Rowe, the American Representative for helping finish this book. VO TECH AND CO OP SPEND TIME WISELY The opportunity to attend Vo-tech in Adrian, Michigan, gave Hudson students the chance to choose the trade skills they would enjoy the most. The school year of 1980-81 saw 89 Hudson students enrolled in Vo-tech, and Co-op there were 7. Of the many career skills taught at Vo-tech and Co-op some Hudson students enrolled in learning experiences such as: auto body, child care, landscaping, business office, and building trades.
