Hudsonian Hudson, Michigan Volume 23 Dedication Mrs. Donaldson explains to Mr. Lawrence Mrs. Donaldson has been working at Hudson Area High School since 1964. This is her 17th and last year here. Mrs. Donaldson attended Hudson High and graduated in 1935. Since then she has worked in an insurance office and the city office. Mrs. Donaldson's job working at this school has included being bookeeper for the classes, budgeting for the high school, and education secretary. We thank Mrs. Donaldson for her many years of hard work and dedication to our school. Her resignation will surely be a loss to H.H.S. 3 Decision 4 Kind friend ' said he, will you help me decide Which fork of the road to take? 6 The future I know will all depend 7 8 I set his feet on the upper road. His job is supervising and scheduling sports activities and seeing that there is transportation for these events. Mr. Zimmerman enjoys getting to know the students better through his job. Mr. Douglas Ferman: Superintendent Douglas Ferman has been superintendent since 1963. In the school system, he insures that proper curriculum is followed, that cafeterias and grounds are kept up. He also controls personnel, money, and legal matters. Mr. Ferman likes his job because it's never routine and he gets to see the results of his efforts. Ray Curran has been high school principal for three years. Besides the duties that most students realize, Mr. Curran is in charge of establishing the curriculum, designating where and how money is spent, and evaluating teachers. Mr. Curran also enjoys working with the students of HAHS. Robin Marry and seven J.V. cheer- leaders whose captains were Kris Bailey and Co.-Capt. Dawn Donaldson. Both of the squads attended summer camps where the varsity squad brought home a first place. It has been a long time since a back from Hudson has gained this many yards. Senior Art Stiverson also gained 704 yards. With these two backs gaining this many yards it is a compliment to the fine offensive line. Even though it wasn't a good year the tigers never quit and they had a lot of pride and determination. Under the direction of a new advisor, Mr. Lawrence, the determined staff of thirteen students completed this book in the nick of time for the last deadline in June. The Hudsonion staff sold M M's and an overwhelming amount of ads to help pay for the book. This book was done in the mosaic layout style as was the '78-79 yearbook. The fund raising projects included a craft sale at Christmas where hand-made items were sold, and the sales of candy and candy bars. Putting all these projects into action was a tough job, but President Karey Gadzinski and her staff did a very good job of it. Other officers included Vice President Sue Schaffner, Treasurer Virginia Schroader and Donna Duncan, Secretaries Angela Bade and Virgina Duncan. Front row; A. Bade, S. Schaffner, K. Gadzinski, D. Hudson High presented their all-school play with flair and taste. The play, Once Upon a Mattress , was presented by a talented group of actors and actresses from the school. Heading this fine performance were advisors Mrs. Sheely and Mr. Rickard. The plot of the play is a messed up version of the old fairy tale The princess and the Pea . This play told the true version of that story, with the help of the cast and the stage crew. Two Highlights of the show were a soft shoe by the minstrel and The Facts of Life , which the king describe to the prince. Class competitions consisted of a tug-of-war, a car push, and an obstacle course.
