Class Hlstor In the year 1949 we the Class of 1955 entered high school There were one hundred and sixry six of us green but eager to learn That year we chose Ray Bumgarner president Bobby Lmgle vice president and Marlean Link secretary treasurer Very few activities were carried on that year by our class because most of our time had to be put on studying if we were to reach that last fateful day in May 1953 The freshmen sponsors that year were Mr Everhart Mrs Garrison Mr Throneburg and Mrs Borfey The next year was a more enyoyable prosperous year for all That year we had Mr Robinson Miss Pharr Miss Freeman and Mrs Smith a.s our sponsors We elected Bertha Sue Hall president Ray Bumgarner vice president Lois Champion secretary and Jackie Setzer treasurer Many students entered different clubs this year among them the Key Club the Allied Youth and the Glee Club Our school interest grew because now we were a real part of the school Our junior year was a very busy one We honored the Seniors of 52 with the annual jr Sr Banquet That year we chose Bertha Sue Hall to lead us again as president Bobby Lingle was elected vrce president Lois Champion secretary and Tommy Smrth treasurer Mr Smith Mrs Melton and Miss Burns were sponsors This year several of us received the honor of being asked into the Beta Club As the end of the year came our future was bright and our hopes hrgh Finally we were Seniors After the long yourney to the top we were there with much happiness and some regret We chose Maxine Coffey president jimmy Cannon vice president, Justrna and Miss Conley served us well as sponsors There are many memories of our Senior year that will remain with us The trip to Washington the jr Sr Banquet Invitations preparation for Class Night graduatron and other memorable events took up our time in our last year of high school We came to the end with eighty people remaining rn the class Some had dropped school because they felt rt was too hard but to those of us who remained the reward was great A bright future awalts us We now feel ready to undertake the duties and responsibilities that we shall meet along lifes way ' 0 9 1 1 - - l I ' , - , . - . y . .
