Ele- mentary teachers shared the responsibility of preparing the kids for the contest. Each teacher had a iob to do in preparing for the meet, which was held at our own iunior high and elementary campuses. Junior High teachers, Mrs. Melba Story and Mrs. Fran Hightower helped in preparing for all the iunior high events. In high school Mrs. Kathy Ramsey, Mrs. Pat Futch, Mrs. Janet Rawcliffe, Mrs. Elaine Russell, and Mrs. M. J. Brown prepared for the many events in the UIL high school meet. Homecoming 1980 Q 4 . . , :xp nels AVE 1. ,VM ii, - Above Cindy Leonard, '79 Homecoming Queen poses with the 1980 Queen candidates and their escorts. Left to right they are: Sophomores, Michelle Culp and Brig Luce, Seniors, Cecily Hance and Dusty Stringer, Queen, Cindy Leo- nard, Juniors, John Jones and Lisa Richardson, Freshmen, Robert Ramsey and Gina Hefner. At right is the 1980 newly crowned Homecoming Queen and her escort, Cecily Hance and Dusty Stringer, the Senior Representatives. The night ended well with the Varsity Boys winning 58 to 39 against the Rusk Eagles while the Girls Varsity took their opponents 42 to 29. The Hudson Hornet '79-'80 Cheerleaders sponsored a Homecoming Dance immediately following the basketball games and coronation. Eddie Thompson, a iunior, was the disc iockey for the affair. He provided a combination of Country and Disco to satisfy the tastes of all. At midnight, with Donna Sommers' Last Dance playing in the dimly lit Hudson cafeteria, the close of another successful Homecom- ing celebration was announced. Activities - p. 38 niifxme
