RALLY SQUAD Toni Gooch Linda Hicks Jon Dickensheet 88 Barbara Vaughan Judy Sutton SanDee Hume Bill Nicotro lonce lynch Jerry Ensley On Tuesday, September 4, 1962, school started for those old enough to go but didn't especially want to. Returning seniors and juniors felt stared at, pushed by, utterly amazed by, a huge throng of noisy, shuffling, talkative small monsters — Sophomores. Lost... I'm lost, moaned the wise fools. Legs kept double time to keep up with transient classes ... 400 was 700 . . . 300 nonexistent. From the ground flew the new wing to relieve bursting classrooms and sluggish halls. Fall fell again. The trees, dressed in muted flames, paled before the howling wind. It blew roofs upon the air. Blaring away, the monster left the earth scarred. After clearing up the windblown wrecks, the football team returned to the cry of aching muscles and bruised bones. The quarter ended . . . grades exploded .. . seniors sobbed. Fall found football, fog, fun, frost, finals, and Friday. I%3 HALL OF FAME I won't grow up I don't wanna go to school This was the song of the lost children, but for a group of seniors this was a day they wouldn't have missed for all of Captain Hook's treasure. The Hall of Fame for the Class of 1963 screamed, stared, smiled, and shouted with )0 as their names were called. There was that fairy-tale quality about the rest of the day and some were flying almost as well as if Tinkcrbcll has sprinked a little of her magic dust. But it would soon be over. All stories come to an end. Like Wendy, the senior class and its Hall of Fame were about to grow up and meet the world. .. six days until graduation. 175 FAREWELL ASSEMBLY SENIOR ACTIVITIES Hr Gc c r L iVg ‘V 0 WIT cr II ’ TR T E R 5|| Tr v v S •fr -tRkTIW 1.
